in teaching refers to a standardized method where the same instructional strategies,
materials, and assessments are used for all students, regardless of their individual learning
needs, preferences, or contexts. This approach assumes that all students will benefit equally
from a uniform teaching style and content delivery.

In the context of image description technologies, this approach would mean providing the
same type and level of detail in image descriptions for all users, without considering their
specific needs or the particular context in which they encounter the images. However,
research has shown that this method can be inadequate, especially for people who are blind
or visually impaired (BLV), as it often fails to address their unique requirements for
understanding and interpreting images. Instead, a more effective approach involves tailoring
the content and detail of descriptions based on the specific scenarios and preferences of the
