Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this lab, students will be able to:
, Lab 8-Standalone WLAN
– Setup a single wireless access point WLAN with static IP and open authentication
– Build a basic service set (BSS)
– Test the connectivity of the WLAN
Equipment Required
- 2 laptops with Windows 7 or 10
- 1 cisco wireless access point, WAP321
- 50 Mbyte and 100 Mbyte test files
Important Notes:
Read the following notes before starting your lab
a. Handle lab equipment with extra care. Dropping or misusing equipment may damage
them. Ask your professor if you are not sure about any step of the lab procedure.
b. Read the label on the power adapter (charger) of the access point. Make sure that
you are using the right one. Using a different charger will damage the wireless
access point.
c. Return all equipment and accessories to the cabinet in a neat and organized way
otherwise, 5 marks will be deducted from your lab mark.
d. Tied up all cables, and adapters and return them to their storage box.

Change LAN

static IP
NOTE: address.
Note: The default configuration of the WAP321 device has the Wi-Fi radio turned off. You
must perform the initial configuration using a wired Ethernet connection.
