Two situations where I experienced positive reinforcement was first, when I was
training my puppy. In order for her to learn how to give me paw, every time she correctly did I
would follow up with that by giving her a treat. Another example was when I used to do
chores for my mom, I would do them as well as I was able to because I knew she would give
me an allowance for it. An example for negative reinforcement was when I first started going
out alone when I was young, I missed my curfew and my parents told me that they would be
putting stricter rules on times and where I was allowed to go. An example where my
response was due to classical conditioning was when my dad would come home from work
when I was little and he would be holding up his car keys, this meant he was taking me out
for a drive to get a treat. Whenever I saw him doing this without hesitation I would start
getting ready to meet him at the car.
A defence mechanism I know I am guilty of using is denial. For instance a toxic trait I
have is if I am very confident in an answer I give or when I am in a situation I will deny any
other possibilities that could very much be the correct answer.
I think a question I would ask about human behaviour if I knew I could get the answer
to it would be, “How are some people able to communicate with others so well?” I would ask
this because I have very bad anxiety and my communication skills are not the best with
people I am not comfortable around. I would like to be able to ask something that could help
me benefit myself and my future.
