introduce nick to his mistress myrtle Wilson – myrtle’s
husband is George
- Tom + nick + myrtle take a taxi to New York and goes to
an apartment, myrtle’s sister: Catherine joins with some
friends (everyone drinks)
- Myrtle complains says daisy’s name – tom hits her, breaks
her nose

During party: myrtle acts rich, tom reminds her of her place by

Nick feels awkward, he sees Jordan baker and mingles – they

- Ask where he is: no one knows
Jordan shares rumors about Gatsby, he once killed a man …
Nick feels serious about Jordan even though she is dishonest
(He wonders is he is in love)
