Organic chemistry is the study of carbon compounds and
their reactions at different temperatures. Study of its
type and properties is called organic chemistry.
Sources of carbons
1. Plants – sugar, starch and cellulose have good
carbon content in it.
2. Animals – urea, proteins and fats are obtained
from animals. They also have organic compound
3. Coal – it is also an organic compound
4. Petroleum – fuel, gases and petrol are found in
petroleum
5. Fermentation – ethyl, alchol comes under
fermentation.
6. Wood – destructive distillation of wood results
in methyl alchol.
7. By synthetic methods done in laboratory.
