Exam (elaborations) NRS 490 Scholarly Article QUALITY IMPROVEMENT COMMITEES The quality improvement committee targeting veteran citizens in in the community held a conference in the community. The aim of the committees was to improve the life of the veterans who are obese and are undergoing post-traumatic stress disorders. Reduction of the problems faced by the senior citizens is imperative in the promotion of the veterans’ health. The benefit of the activity to me is learning how to advise, manage and control patients with post-traumatic stress disorders. Also as result of the conference, I would able to differentiate people who are serving with the post-traumatic stress disorders from the people suffering from the general stress. Problem The current state of the patients with the obese as result of the post-traumatic stress disorders is severe among the veteran officers. The present state of the activity is Texas State, and the aim is the veterans who have retired from the military and other perceived stressful jobs from the government and the private sector. Obesity is a problem since could lead to another disease such as heart attack and cancer (Bridges et al., 2011). To need for reduction of obesity and improvement of the veteran health is imperative to the government and the medical society. Most of the veterans are used to eating foods with high calories and subsequently due to moderate physical exercise, obesity sets in. After that, nutritional education is imperative in the control and overall changes of the veteran’s perspective on nutritional values (Bell et al. 2017). Also due to post traumatic stress use of the psychological approaches and introduction of such seminars helps the veterans overcome their past through counseling and being united with other veterans. Opportunity The opportunity targeted by the quality improvement committee is to reduce the number of calories taken by the veteran. Also, the time adopted by the veterans in doing physical activity is imperative. Quality improvement targets the availability of the veterans for demonstration and meeting of the same patients with a nurse in the society. Attending and participating in such conference is imperative in the improvement of the nurse skills and interaction with veterans. Also, the nurse will be able to learn from other senior nurses and professions on how to coach patients and manage large numbers. Program Competencies Addressed The quality committee focuses on the nutritional, psychology and general health programs in the conference. The committee promoted the use of the sequence such that programs like educating and demonstrations were done in an orderly manner. The competence of the quality delivered to the veterans aimed at reducing the amount of the calories intake and positive perception of life.
