DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
PURPOSE
The purpose of the model is to estimate the amount of money the cheese company can make in the
future, being able to change certain factors like the exchange rate between euros and pounds, the
price of the cheeses and the selling price can give quick feedback to the company and lets them
know if it could benefit their business.

USER REQUIREMENTS
 Convert Euros into Pounds
 Change the exchange rate
 Calculate UK sales price
 Sales price is 40% more than the price they buy the cheese
 Calculate profit
 Every 10p rise in cost drops 20 units sold
 User friendly

CONSTRAINTS
Spreadsheet Creating Constraints
One constraint I’ll have is time. Like with anything, there is a time constraint on how long you have
to complete it and to make sure that everything is completed in that timeframe, I will set goals for
myself each week to have something to aim for.

The final constraint I’ll face is the hardware I use. If the computer is a few years old, it could slow
down the development of the spreadsheet because the programs used to make spreadsheets
require a more up to date system. If you’re lucky and are able to get the required program working,
then the next problem is how well it functions. If you try and do too much on an old computer it
could freeze it, again halting progress.

User Constraints
A constraint that the user might face is knowing how to use the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet will
have to be very clear on how to use it because if it is not clear enough, the user will get annoyed
with the spreadsheet and might give up on trying to use it. I will make sure that the spreadsheet is
clear enough for users to be able to use it by labelling each aspect of it so they can see clearly what
the numbers represent.
The final constraint that the user might face is the design of the spreadsheet. If the colours are hard
to look at, the user will struggle to use the spreadsheet effectively which could make the predicted
cheese profits inaccurate. This can lead to the business making prices too high or low and could
cause a lot of damage to the business. To prevent this from happening I will use different sheets to
spread parts of the spreadsheet out.
