Rationale getallen: getallen die als breuk geschreven kunnen worden. Dit zijn ook
gehele getallen en 0 (7 = 7/1 en 0 = 0/1).

Grootste gemene deler (ggd): grootste getal waardoor beide getallen deelbaar zijn.
Kleinste gemeenschappelijk
veelvoud (kgv): het kleinste positieve gehele getal dat een veelvoud is van
beide getallen.

Van links naar rechts haal je voldoende getallen naar beneden om door A te kunnen delen.

Ontbinding in priemfactoren
Zoek een getal dat groter is dan 1 en kleiner dan het getal zelf:
238 is te delen door 17 (14 maal)
14 is te delen door 7 (2 maal)
2 is niet verder te delen
De ontbinding van 238 in priemfactoren is daarmee: 238 = 2 . 7 . 17

Vermenigvuldigen
Voor elke stap naar links schrijf je eerst een extra nul. Je begint rechts en vermenigvuldigt het getal
met alle bovenstaande getallen. Vervolgens begin je bij het tiental (0 opschrijven) en vermenigvuldig
je dit getal met alle bovenstaande getallen. Dit doe je ook voor hondertallen (twee nullen opschrijven)
etc.
