1. Introduction
Stroke (Cerebrovascular Accident, CVA) occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted,
causing brain tissue damage.
Types of Stroke:
1. Ischemic Stroke: Blockage of blood vessels → most common (~80%)
2. Hemorrhagic Stroke: Rupture of blood vessels → bleeding into brain
3. Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA): Temporary blockage → “mini-stroke,” warning sign
