Organizations often operate by developing, maintaining and enforcing organizational charts and business
processes.
Organizational chart: Shows the structure of an organization in terms of control, power and chain of
commands. (organisatiestructuur) Board of Directors; CEO; COO; CFO; CMO; CIO.

1. Board of directors:
 A group of people elected to represent shareholders; Monitor a company
o Prevent illegal activities
o Create value (check if the company is on the right track to create revenue for the
shareholders)
o Threats
 Advise the CEO in decision making; Make decisions about major issues:
o Hiring/firing senior executives
o Ratifying annual budget
o Merging with other companies
 Create general policies
2. Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
 Highest ranking executive in a company; Appointed by the board
 The public face of the company; Makes major corporate decisions
o About operations and resources in the company
o Setting long-term goals
3. Chief Operating Officer (COO)
 Often operated second in the chain of commands
 Oversees the day-to-day activities of business
 Executes the company’s business plans
4. Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
 Head of financial management
 Tracks cash flow
 Creates financial reports
5. Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
 4P’s: Product, Price, Place, Promotion
6. Chief Information Officer (CIO)
 The highest level of IT executives or manager in a business
