Reflection on Digital Technology Integration
Section A: Q&A Reflection
1. How did your understanding of digital integration in education develop through
CIC2601?
At the start of the module, my view of digital technologies was largely functional, limited
to tools such as PowerPoint for presentations or email for communication. Through
CIC2601, this perception broadened significantly. The introduction of frameworks such
as Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) and the SAMR model
shaped my understanding of purposeful integration.
These frameworks emphasized that effective digital pedagogy emerges when
technology is aligned with both content and teaching strategies (Mishra & Koehler,
2006; Puentedura, 2010). My portfolio tasks demonstrated that technology should not
simply replicate traditional practices but should transform learning into interactive,
collaborative, and inquiry-driven processes. This progression reflected my growth from
viewing digital tools as supplementary to recognizing them as essential catalysts for
redefined learning.
