Instructions for the Take-Home Examination
Please read the following carefully before attempting the questions.
,1. The examination counts 100 marks and runs from 08:00–12:00 (4 hours). An
additional 30 minutes is allowed for finalising the upload of your answer file. You
must upload your file to myExams on 24 May 2024 before 12:30 (SAST).
⚠️Note: The myExams system already includes the extra 30 minutes. This
means your script must be uploaded before 12:30 sharp.
There is no contingency link. Uploads must be made on the myExams
platform only.
2. The paper contains five (5) questions. You must answer all questions and
substantiate your responses with references to the Study Guide, prescribed case
law, and legislation.
3. Adhere strictly to the line limit provided for each question. Marks will be deducted
if these limits are not followed.
4. Do not include the examination questions or evaluation criteria in your submitted
answers. Ensure that answers are correctly numbered in sequence.
5. Although this is an open-book exam, you may only consult the prescribed
material for this module. These include the Study Guide and the prescribed
cases listed in tutorial letter 101/3/2024, available via the library’s e-reserves.
Collaboration with others is not permitted.
6. You must tick the Academic Honesty Declaration on myExams. By doing so,
you confirm that:
o You have read and are complying with the Policy on Copyright
Infringement and Plagiarism and the Student Disciplinary Code
(available on myUnisa).
o You understand and commit to UNISA’s values relating to academic

o You accept the consequences of breaching these rules.

, 1. All answers must be typed in Arial, size 12 and submitted online in PDF
format.
o Scanned documents and handwritten scripts will not be accepted.
o Submissions via email will not be marked.
2. A mark of 0% will be awarded for:
o Non-typed answers.
o Answers not in Arial, size 12.
o Scanned submissions.
o Incorrect files submitted.
o Password-protected files.
3. The Invigilator App must be used during the exam.
o Scan the QR code between 07:45 and 08:30 (SAST).
o Technical issues should be reported via WhatsApp to 073 505 8273.
o Do not contact lecturers directly.
⚠️Listening to music or using audio-to-text software is strictly forbidden, unless
approved as part of an assistive device. Failure to comply will be a breach of
UNISA’s rules, and your marks will be withheld.
4. All submissions will be checked via Turnitin. You must accept the Turnitin End
User Agreement (EULA). Failure to do so will result in your work not being
marked.
