4. Mores More strongly held norms. Breaking is a bigger deal. ex. lack of wearing clothes

5. Taboos Most strongly held norms. Laws against such action. Often don't need rules. ex.

Message Code-any system of symbols by which we communicate. Must be shared

Message Treatment- not what you say but how you say it. (non-verbal things like

19. Double Bind When the content and treatment of a message clash. (We tend to listen to the
treatment in these cases). .. we tend to believe non-verbal is more reflexive.

20. Channel The medium used to get a message from source to receiver. (face to face, TV, etc.)

21. Receiver Person who receives the message being sent.

22. Feedback The receiver becoming the source.

23. Circular Model Model in which there is a constant change of source and and receiver. Feedback
is involved. Models are selective. Ex: A_> B; B-> A

24. Linear Model Can only define communication that is one way. (SEMCDR Model)
