ASSIGNMENT 3 2025
UNIQUE NO.
DUE DATE: 22 AUGUST 2025
, Assignment 03: Education for Sustainable Development
Question 1
1.1 Two types of theoretical frameworks
Constructivist Learning Theory
Social Learning Theory
1.2 Definitions
a) Theoretical framework:
A theoretical framework is the foundation of a study that draws on established theories
to explain relationships between variables and guide the research process (Creswell &
Creswell, 2018).
b) Conceptual framework:
A conceptual framework is the researcher’s own model that illustrates how concepts
and variables in a study relate to one another, often integrating elements from multiple
theories (Adom et al., 2018).
1.3 Difference between a theoretical framework and a conceptual framework
A theoretical framework uses existing, well-established theories to frame a
study (Grant & Osanloo, 2014).
A conceptual framework is constructed by the researcher to map out their
unique understanding of the study’s concepts and relationships (Adom et al.,
2018).
