Republic interview UPDATED ACTUAL
Exam Questions and CORRECT Answers
Tell me about yourself - CORRECT ANSWER - I grew up in West Texas in an aviation
family. My Grand father was a cooperate pilot for several places back in the day - his nephew
and great nephews and great niece all have grown to become airline pilots or aspiring airline
pilots. I got my private in 99 between high school and college. Was slowing flying as I could
afford it as a college kid to parents who were far from rich. 9/11 put a huge damper on that for
me due to flying rates increasing and no jobs. I then went to my second dream job which was law
enforcement.

Why do you want to be a pilot - CORRECT ANSWER - I've always wanted to fly - not only
as a hobby - but for a career - as a profession. They say if you love what you do you never work
a day in your life. Well, I have to be honest, I can't wait to have the opportunity to experience
That feeling first hand -
And this is the job that's gonna do it.

Rate yourself as a pilot (scale of 1-10) - CORRECT ANSWER - 8 ive been flying GA for a
long time and feel very confident when in the cockpit. However, there is always so much room
for improvement and skill development. No one will ever be a ten. Maybe someday I'll reach
nine status.

What do you want to do with your flying career - CORRECT ANSWER - Let it take my on
my new journey to the top as far as I can go and as fast as I can get there.

from my mothers side. There are pictures of me in my cousins piper cub when I was 3 or 4 years
old. It's just in my blood.

Why are you getting back into flying - CORRECT ANSWER - Even having 15 years in my
current career, throughout my years in law-enforcement I always looked back and thought how
amazing it would be if I could still have the chance to fly. Every time a jet flies overhead, I look
at it and wish I was the one flying. I feel like now is my time, even though I'm 38 years old,
already halfway through some of life, the opportunities that are being afforded right now I want

,that I just can't pass up. I feel like God has given me a second chance to start over and do what I
was born to do. That's why I'm here

What school did you attend - CORRECT ANSWER - I got my private license from a small
school at Hicks airfield in Fort Worth Texas. It was called split as Aviation. My instructor's
name was Stephen Smith, he's now a captain for Southwest and is also one of the folks that
included a letter of recommendation for me. The rest of my ratings I obtained from individual
instructors using my own airplanes and ones that I rented. The home school of flight schools if
you will LOL

Describe your previous training - CORRECT ANSWER - I think my training background is
probably pretty simple. I flew Cessna 150s, 152, and 172 is during my private license. Fluid
tomahawk along the way, bought a Cherokee 180 in 2014 and flew it for a bit. Got my mooney
in 2016 and flew it for my instrument and commercial. Obtained my multi engine commercial ad
on in an Apache.

How much glass cockpit time do

You have. - CORRECT ANSWER - Flying an actual glass cockpit like a Garman 1000 I only

a guy I know who has an Apache who's going to let me fly it for 50 hours.

it will be going from operating more simple aircraft to learning flows and numerous lengthy
check lists for these much more complex aircraft.

don't feel as though this will be as big of a challenge - waiting for the delay for the engine to
spool up will be different at first.

who are currently doing it - so I've been talking with them, getting their input on what their
biggest challenge was. Understanding rules and refs pertaining to 121.

What do you think the hardest part of 121 flying will be. - CORRECT ANSWER - I think
some of the rules and regs applying to
121 will be harder to get used to (such as duty limits and the like)

a couple of smaller police departments but wasn't where I wanted to be. Worked as an officer for
a couple of departments before landing at Fort Worth. It was my dream police department and I
loved it.
