Introduction: In this assignment, I am going to be analyzing two
contrasting business and their features and the businesses that I have
chosen are McLaren Group which is a privately owned high-technology
british conglomerate based in Woking, UK and Book Aid International
which is an educational support charity organization based in
Camberwell, London, UK.

McLaren Group a privately owned manufacturing company founded in
1963 and since has built on its successful racing expertise and
diversified to include a global, high-performance sports car
business. They are known for their luxurious supercars. They have
managed to secure a position as one of the world’s most illustrious high-
technology brands and also McLaren is the second-most-winning
Formula One Grand Prix constructor, with 182 wins. McLaren Group
specializes in racing, automotive, marketing, applied technologies,
electronic systems, licensing & merchandising. They have five different
series of cars with different price tags; new gt , sports series, super
series, ultimate series and legacy. Within these series there are also
different models of supercars. The targeted market of this business is a
niche market as only limited people can afford to buy this luxurious
supercar. In Spite of the high price, the sales of this business is
increasing every year. They sold 4829 new cars last year, representing
a 43.9% jump from the 3340 cars sold in 2017 and made revenue of
£1.1billion.

Built on the experience and knowledge gained from building some of the
most successful Formula 1 cars on the planet, McLaren Group exists for
one purpose that is to set the benchmark in the high-performance sports
car market and continuously surpass it.

Mission
McLaren Group's mission is to become one of the best valued supercar

market.

Ownership
McLaren Group is a private limited company so its shares cannot be
bought by the general public. As it is a private limited company profits
have to be shared and also
losses have to be beared by the shareholders who are also the owners.
Limited liability and so has separate legal entity and thus does not affect
their personal property but may lose value of the shares.

Scope of business activity
McLaren Group is one of the biggest super car automobile
manufacturers in the UK and also in the whole world, meaning that it is
working on an international level. It has 22 showrooms and more than
80 dealerships around the globe providing those goods to the limited
customers.

P2 Explain how two contrasting businesses are influenced by
stakeholders.

, Business National BTEC
UNIT 1: Exploring Business

Task E

Introduction: In this assignment, I will be talking about how two
contrasting businesses McLaren Group and Book Aid International
are influenced by stakeholders. First, I will explain what a stakeholder is
and then the different stakeholders influencing the two chosen
businesses and at last I will draw a conclusion.

Stakeholder is a party that has an interest in a company and can either
affect or be affected by the business. There are different types of
stakeholders in a business who influence the business internally and
externally and they are owners, creditors, shareholders, employees,
customers, suppliers, local community, governments, etc. An advantage
of a stakeholder is that it can provide valuable input which can help to
improve outcomes and build consensus.

Both of the chosen businesses are influenced by some key stakeholders
and they are listed below:

 Owners
Owners are those who owns the company and they have the most
time and money invested in the business. Owners are internal
stakeholders as they work internally and have a direct influence on
the aims and objectives of a business and can influence it to make
higher profits through expansion or growth of the business.

McLaren Group is a privately owned company and the owners of
this company are Mumtalakat Holding Company with
56.40%,Mansour ojjeh with 24.32%, Michael Latifi with 9.84% and
other minority shareholders with remaining 19.44%. They are
directly involved in decision making of the company and if the
company makes profit they share the profits between them and if
it's at a loss they have to bear the loss. On the other hand Book
Aid International is a charity trust and there is no particular
owner in this business but the decisions are made by the board of
trustees ensuring everything goes well. And also the company
cannot continue its work without the help of other supporters as
funds are collected from different supporters and sponsors like
savoo, pearson, afren, macmillan, etc who helps this business to
run.
