1. TERMS OF REFERENCE
This report was commissioned on 15 October 2025 by Ms Tancred, the Chairperson of
the Civic Organisation in Soshangana township. The investigation was assigned to

this report is to explore possible methods of securing an adequate and consistent water
supply for the residents of Soshangana township. The report, along with

2. PROCEDURES

Conducted interviews with residents of Soshangana to understand their daily water
challenges and current water sourcing methods.
2.2 Consultation with Municipal Officials
Engaged with Bakwena Municipality officials to get insights on the existing water
infrastructure and plans for improvements.
2.3 Review of Government Policies and Water Acts
Reviewed the national and provincial water supply frameworks and policies to identify
legal avenues and rights to access clean water.
2.4 Investigation of Alternative Water Sources
Explored viable alternative water supply methods, including boreholes, rainwater
harvesting, and public-private partnerships.
