Receptive skills involve understanding and receiving information, such as
listening and reading. Productive skills involve creating and sharing information,
such as speaking and writing.

3) According to Nunan (2001:23), hearing, attending and understanding are three
stages in the listening process. In your own words, explain EACH of these stages
in one sentence.
Hearing is the physical process of sound entering the ears.
Attending is the act of focusing attention on specific sounds or messages.
Understanding is making sense of the sounds or messages heard.
