1. Background of the Selected SDGs
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
This goal is centred on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for people of all
ages. It covers a broad range of public health priorities such as improving maternal and
child health, addressing non-communicable diseases, enhancing mental health
services, combating substance abuse, and reducing injuries from road accidents. A key
aspect of SDG 3 is strengthening healthcare systems to provide inclusive and equitable
access to essential health services (UNDP, 2021).
SDG 13: Climate Action
This goal calls for urgent efforts to tackle climate change and mitigate its impacts. It
emphasizes the importance of incorporating climate-related strategies into government
policies, fostering education and awareness around environmental issues, and
enhancing international cooperation to address the global climate emergency (United
Nations, 2015).

I selected SDG 3 because health is a fundamental pillar of human development. The
