since the late 19th century. This increase may seem negligible, but it has far-reaching
consequences for ecosystems, sea levels, and weather systems.
One of the major impacts of climate change is the increase in frequency and intensity of extreme
weather events. Heatwaves, floods, droughts, and hurricanes have become more common and
severe. For instance, the catastrophic floods in Pakistan in 2022 and the recurring wildfires in
Australia and California are direct consequences of changing climate patterns.
Sea-level rise is another critical consequence of climate change. Melting glaciers and polar ice caps,
