is to investigate the impact of caring and overprotecting parenting styles on emotional
intelligence and adjustment of the school students of Tripura. Parental bonding is the
construction of attachment that develops between parents and children which is characterized
by emotions such
3as affection and trust (Jayalakshmi & Ilango, 2014). The study found out that parental bonding
6% of variance or changes in adolescent's emotional intelligence can be accounted for the
confluence of parental care and similarly 3.3% changes can be accounted for the confluence of
parental overprotection. Parents play the most crucial role in the development of an individual.
