o Perspective

• Perspective is the proception of depth
• Foreground – towards the front of the painting
• Background- further back in the painting
• Vertical – objects placed higher in the picture will
look further back
• Size- Objects further back will be proportionally
smaller
• Overlapping- observes that objects in front of other
objects obscure them and make the further object
look smaller and appear further back than the front
object
• Foreshortening – vanishing point
o Using the picture in class, the example would
be taking the two parallel sides of the table
and tracing them to where they meet, that
point is the vanishing point
• Atmospheric – the artist is attempting to take into
account that the atmosphere has an impact on how
we view objects miles back in the distance
o Cooler color – green, blue, purple
