Measurement and Errors:  Units and Standard Form: Familiarize yourself with SI units, converting between units, and using standard form for very large or small numbers.  Significant Figures and Rounding: Understand how to use significant figures to report precise measurements and how to round appropriately. 2. Forces and Motion:  Kinematics: Study the suvat equations for uniform acceleration, and be able to calculate displacement, velocity, and time.  Newton’s Laws: Understand the three laws of motion and how they apply to different situations, such as forces acting on an object.  Momentum: Learn the concept of momentum and the principle of its conservation during collisions (elastic and inelastic).  Work, Energy, and Power: Understand the work-energy principle, calculate kinetic and potential energy, and understand how power is related to energy transfer. 3. Waves:  Wave Properties: Understand key features of waves, such as amplitude, frequency, wavelength, and speed, and how they are related (v = fλ).  Wave Behavior: Study phenomena such as reflection, refraction, diffraction, and interference, and apply these concepts to solve problems.  Sound Waves: Understand the properties of sound waves and their applications, including the Doppler effect. 4. Electricity:  Current, Voltage, and Resistance: Study Ohm’s Law (V = IR), and understand how current and voltage relate in both series and parallel circuits.  Power: Understand the formulas for electrical power (P = IV, P = I²R) and how to calculate power in a circuit. 5. Materials:  Stress and Strain: Understand the relationship between force and extension in elastic materials, and calculate the Young’s Modulus.  Elastic and Plastic Deformation: Study the difference between elastic and plastic deformation and be able to interpret stress-strain graphs. 6. Nuclear Physics:  Radioactivity: Understand the three types of radiation (alpha, beta, gamma), their properties, and their ability to penetrate materials.  Half-life and Decay: Learn to calculate half-life and understand the concepts of nuclear decay and the decay constant.
