ATC FUNDAMENTALS

\Approach Controller is responsible for: - ANS-Coordination and control of all instrument traffic
within the ATCF area of jurisdiction

-Non Radar
\ARTCC is: - ANS-A Facility established to provide ATC services to aircraft operating on IFR
flight plans within controlled airspace principally during the enroute phase of flight
\Assists the ATCFO in administration, supervision, and training of assigned personnel. -
ANS-Leading Chief of Navy ATC facility Organization
\ATC Tower Certificate Eligibility - ANS--Be at least 18 yrs of age.
-Be of good Moral Character
-Be able to read write, and understand the english language without impediment.
-Hold at least a second class medical certificate under part 67 of this chapter within 12 months
before the date application is made, with the exception of military.
-Comply with part 65.35, Knowledge Requirements.
\Both the control tower chief and the radar chief are responsible for: - ANS-qualifying personnel
on individual operating positions and recommending certification in conformance with NAVAIR
00-80T-114.

\DD Form 2992? - ANS-"Up - Chit" (Medical Recommendation for flying or special operational
duty)
