been replaced by a new self, controlled by a new nature? - ✔️✔️We can be freed from
Satan and our sins
Our old sinful selves with their sinful natures were cruel, self-serving skippers under the
authority of ________ himself. By God's grace, we have a new -_________- and a new

What's the difference between being darkness and being in darkness? What does this
tell you about yourself before you knew Jesus? (see Ch 4 Asgn #1 question 7 answer) -
✔️✔️Darkness was our nature as unbelievers. It is what we were, darkness. Now as a
believer we are a new nature in Christ, but still live in a dark world.
What's the difference between being light and being in light? What does this tell you, a
believer, about your role in the world? (see Ch 4 Asgn #1 question 8 answer) -
✔️✔️God changed our basic nature from darkness to light. It is our nature now. A
person who doesn't know Jesus can be IN and amongst the light by coming to a church

repent of their sins to be the light and no longer just live IN the light. A believers roll in

often marked by failures and disobedience, disturb the harmony of our relationship with
God.
Before you came to Christ, you were dead in sin, subject to Satan's power, and living
completely to fulfill sinful lusts and desires (Eph 2:1-3). So when you came into
relationship with God through your new birth in Christ Jesus, you didn't add a new divine
nature to your old sinful nature.
