This research paper aims at investigating the impact brought about by AI application in education, with specific interest being on student performance. Through the use of secondary data from reputable databases, it was established that the use of AI improves student’s cognitive abilities, which comes in the form of providing diversified perspectives. The application of AI in education also gave room for personalized learning, where students got access to tailor-made content, and collaborative learning which gave a chance for capitalizing on each other’s strengths to foster content synthesis. Finally, proper use of AI tools like ChatGPT can be harmful but also very beneficial when proper training and attitudes are instilled, this fosters excellence in student performance. Finally, one counterargument of this study was that AI dehumanizes the learning experiences, a claim that has been refuted using scholarly evidence.

Abstract
