According to some research, Iranian women have different roles, simultaneously in the
family and in society. As well as being mothers and spouses, they also have significant
social responsibilities. They play an important part in economic, cultural and political
activities, and are often the source of harmony in the household.
Today women in Iran are experiencing a transition. Many have fought hard to reach senior
positions in management and in universities. However, this change has resulted in an
increase in the age of marriage and in the number of divorces.
A majority of those who work outside the home believe that having both a job and
children is challenging without proper support.
