, Boys system functions
• DIGESTIVE SYSTEM – organs break down large food
molecules into smaller food molecules which can be
absorbed into the blood stream.
• CIRCULATORY SYSTEM – consists of the heart and
blood vessels which send oxygen to all parts of the
body and remove waste from organs and tissues.
• RESPIRATORY SYSTEM – consists of organs which
supply the body cells with oxygen and remove
carbon dioxide.
• MUSCULO-SKELETAL SYSTEM – allows movement
and supports the body.
• Excretory system – kidneys remove impurities and
control the concentration of water and salt in the
blood. Wastes are released as urine.
• REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM – organs make sperm and
ova for fertilisation and the development of the
young.
• NERVOUS SYSTEM – the brain and nerves send
messages to and receive messages from body
organs to regulate body actions and processes.
• ENDOCRINE SYSTEM – consists of glands that make
chemicals called hormones. These chemicals control
certain body processes.
