Reflections on the ISC3701 Module and My Online Learning Experience
As I reflect on my experience in the ISC3701 module during 2024, I realize how
much I have learned and grown both as a student and as a future teacher. This
module, which focuses on information systems, has not only taught me important
concepts but has also enhanced my online learning skills and my ability to interact
with my module lecturer and classmates.
Initially, I found online learning to be quite challenging. The lack of face-to-face
interaction made it difficult to engage fully. However, as the semester progressed,
I started to appreciate the flexibility it offered. I could study at my own pace and
revisit recorded lectures whenever I needed to. This self-directed approach
helped me understand complex topics better. According to Moore and Kearsley
(2012), online learning encourages independence and responsibility, which are
crucial skills for any teacher.
The interactions I had with my module lecturer were a significant part of my
learning experience. They were always available for questions and encouraged us
to participate in discussions. This open communication helped create a supportive
environment. I remember instances where the lecturer provided constructive
