Resources in the Foundation Phase (RDF2601) is at NQF level 6. I hope your engagement
with the module has been an enlightening and enriching experience thus far.
1 INTRODUCTION
Assessment 3 is a mandatory summative assessment in the form of a portfolio. The
portfolio is an OUT-OF-TIMETABLE examination, which consists of short essay-type
questions. Start on the portfolio as soon as possible to give yourself enough time to
complete all the activities. Remember that your competency to achieve the prescribed
module outcomes for RDF2601 will be demonstrated and assessed in this portfolio. Use the
checklist to help you check that ALL your evidence is properly compiled in your portfolio
and ready for submission by the due date.
Take note:
• Assessment 3 contributes 80% towards your year-end mark. The opening and
closing dates for Assessment 3 will be communicated on the myUnisa module site.
• You are expected to read ALL the questions carefully and respond appropriately to
each question. Keep the mark allocation for each question in mind when providing
the answers.
• Familiarise yourself with the content of the module study guide and Tutorial Letter 101.
Your practical teaching experience, research and engagement with your study
material will help you understand the content and perform well in this assessment.
• Read the content, understand it and reflect on it cognitively, theoretically and
practically before answering the questions.
• Refrain from copying content from the study guide. Apply your knowledge, rephrase
and explain the information in your own words to show understanding. Include only
relevant information.
• Type your assessment, using Arial font, size 12.
• Ensure that you complete and supply ALL the information that is required in this
portfolio.
• Addendum A and B must be attached to your assessment.
• This is a single-file upload. Make sure your file is saved as a PDF. Save the
assessment as your student number, surname, module name and assessment
number (e.g., 12345678 Tagg RDF2601 Ass 3). DO NOT password-protect your
assessment. Check that you are submitting the correct file and assessment
(RDF2601). No marks will be assigned if you upload the incorrect file.
• Submit your assessment well in advance to ensure that you do not miss the closing
date.
• E-mailed submissions are NOT allowed.
• Plagiarism of any sort will NOT be tolerated.
