The Virginia Plan
representation based on state population, 3 govt branches, 2 house legislature.
What is the New Jersey Plan?
one vote per state, "small state plan", strengthen the articles..dont replace them.
The Great Compromise
Created a house and a senate, one house is elected based on population and 2 senators from each
state are appointed.
Electoral College
Each state gets the amount equal to the number of house members and senate. Need over 270 to get
the majority.
THe 3/5th compromise
Each slave counted as 3/5ths of a person, this was so the south could get more representatives in
government.
Supremacy Clause
The national government is supreme to the state governments in situations of conflict between law.
