Chronicles - ANSWER-Is Epic's database. All of Epic's applications use Chronicles to store data (Filing Cabinet)
Master file - ANSWER-Are represented by the drawers in the filing cabinet. Each drawer
stores all of the files about the same "type" of thing (Drawer in the filing cabinet)
Record - ANSWER-Since each drawer of a file cabinet holds all of the data about one "type" of thing (such as patients), you need a way to keep separate that information so that it is easy to find and work with. (individual folders in the filing cabinet)
Contact - ANSWER-Is a date-specific snapshot of the data within an individual record. (sheets of paper within a record)
Item - ANSWER-Is a discrete piece of information about a record (individual fields within
a record)
Facility - ANSWER-The facility record is the highest level of the facility structure hierarchy (Represents your entire organization)
Service area - ANSWER-Represent financial divisions within your organization. Are used to separate your financial information according to your accounts receivable structure or the distinct business entities of your organization. This level in the hierarchy
exists primarily for the purposes of Epic's billing applications. (Represents the business entities of your organization)
Location - ANSWER-Freestanding clinics and hospitals
Department - ANSWER-Where the patient recieves care and where the end users logs in
Outpatient department - ANSWER-Patients are scheduled with providers for a brief visits. Patients are not admitted to these departments
Inpatient department - ANSWER-Hospital Units - areas of the hospital where patients are admitted to a particular room and bed. Hospital outpatient department - ANSWER-Departments in which both admitted and ambulatory patients are seen. Patients come to receive care then return home or back to the inpatient unit
Virtual department - ANSWER-Only exist as a login department. Any department in which partients do not actually come to receive care.
Center - ANSWER-Groupings of departments
Security - ANSWER-Access to functionality
Security point - ANSWER-Access to Pieces of functionality (Keys)
Security class - ANSWER-Collections of security points (key ring)
User record - ANSWER-Record that stores security classes, user role, and enables system access for a person
User role - ANSWER-"Look and feel of hyperspace" Controls buttons, menus, timeout value, etc.
Report Settings security - ANSWER-Controls a users' ability to run, edit, and use work lists (DAR, Confirm appts)
Shared security - ANSWER-grants users access to tools shared across many applications
Security template - ANSWER-Contains sercuirty information that can be shared betweens groups of users and serves as the master copy.
Provider - ANSWER-available for scheduling and for making referrals (Schedulable Epic
Resource)
Resource - ANSWER-available for scheduling but cannot make referrals (Schedulable Epic Resource)
Template - ANSWER-Schedule of availability
Release date - ANSWER-Date to which you can schedule
Release date offset - ANSWER-Minimum amount of days, weeks, or months that should
always remain open for scheduling
Template Date Range - ANSWER-How far out you are building a provider schedule
Weekly Pattern - ANSWER-Availability with recurrence applicable for an enitre week
