Leadership - Answer-A process of social influence in which one person can enlist the
aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task. The leadership role
is an informal role achieved through influence and shared meaning with the group.
Followership - Answer-A process of skillful, active participation in setting the direction of
a group using critical and creative thinking to contribute and advocate for new ideas.
Followership can be an influential role if applied well and demonstrates leadership
qualities.
Management - Answer-A philosophy of leadership that demonstrates shared power
between leader and followers, placing the needs of others before the needs of the
individual. This style of leadership promotes development of the team and high

Christian servant leadership - Answer-The original servant leadership model as we note
the leadership of Christ. Christ came to earth to serve man and to save him, creating
the ultimate model of how we should serve others. Reference: For even the Son of Man
did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark
10: 45
Reprimand - Answer-A reprimand does not affect the nurse's ability to practice. It
imposes a civil penalty, additional continuing education, and/or possible drug screening.
Limitation/Probation - Answer-The nurse continues to practice nursing subject to certain
conditions as determined by KBN. Restrictions may include: the area in which the nurse
is allowed to practice; practicing with supervision; and/or having limited or no access to
narcotics or other medications. Probation may include: meetings with KBN staff; random
drug/alcohol screens; substance abuse treatment; and employer reports.
Voluntary Surrender - Answer-The nurse agrees to surrender the license for a period of
time with terms to be met for reinstatemen
Suspension - Answer--The nurse loses the right to practice nursing for a specific
amount of time. The Board's order will specify conditions that must be met prior to
reinstatement of the license which
may include: a current chemical dependency, mental health, and/or physical evaluation;
counseling reports; random drug/alcohol screens; and letters of recommendation. A
hearing may be required to consider reinstatement of a license.
