ASNT Level 3 Basic
ASNT NDT level 3 certification is a requirement of:
CP-189.
A currently valid ASNT NDT level 3 certificate indicates:
that the certificate holder has satisfied the basic and method exam requirements as set forth in SNT-TC-
1A.
ASNT NDT level 3 certification:
makes an individual potentially eligible to become an employers level 3.
The ASNT NDT level 3 basic exam covers all the following except:
knowledge of international certification programs
To recertify by application, an ASNT NDT level 3 must
demonstrate continued NDT activity and level employment
To be eligible to sit for the ASNT NDT level 3 exams a candidate with 2 years of passing grades in
engineering or science study at a university or tech school must have
2 additional years of experience beyond the level 2 requirements in NDT in a assignment at least
comparable to that of NDT level 2 in the applicable NDT methods.
