Exogenic river material - ANS Massmovement Erosion Sheetwash Endogenic river material - ANS From stream bed and bank Bed-load - ANS Includes larger particles which cannot be picked up by the current. They can be exogenic or endogenic Saltation - ANS Sand, pebbles and gravel are temporarily lifted and bounced along the river bed in a bouncing manner Traction - ANS This is when the largest cobbles and boulders are rolled along the river bed. The largest of those may only be moved during times of extreme flood Suspended load - ANS This consists of fine particles of clay and silt which are dislodged and carried by turbulence in a fast flowing river. This load is held in suspension within the river body, and increases in amount towards the rivers mouth giving it its brown or black color Solution - ANS This involves dissolved particles, especially if the bedrock is soluble and the river contains acid. ( can come from erosion, pollution and chemical weathering Conditions for braiding - ANS 1: variable discharge 2: banks Made up of loose incoherent material 3: the river must be transporting a large load
