These disease particles are very small and require special respiratory protection and room ventilation. Examples of airborne precautions Chickenpox, measles, and tuberculosis Example of contact Salmonella, scabies, shigella, and pressure ulcers Oral 97.6-99.6 Rectal 98.6-100.6 Arm pit (Axillary) 96.6-98.6 Tympanic membrane 98.6 Pulse 60-100 beats per minute Respirations 12-20 breaths systolic (Top number) 90-120 Diastolic pressure (bottom number) 60-80 Pretension 120-139/80-90 hypertension 140/90 or higher hypotension (low blood pressure) 90/60 and below fowlers position 45-60 degrees Semi fowlers 30 degrees high fowlers 90 degrees supine laying on back Prone laying on the stomach lateral side laying position on either side Sims' "semi prone side postion" left side laying position active ROM patient does exercise passive ROM caregiver does exercises active-assistive ROM caregiver helps patient do exercises flexion bending of a joint extension straightening of a joint abduction moving a body part away from mid line adduction moving a body part away from the midline rotation twisting/turning a joint supination palm up pronation palm down eversion rotating foot outward inversion rotating foot inward dorsiflexion bending foot upward plantar flexion pointing foot downward Removing PPE Gloves, goggles, gown, mask
