Lymph nodes
Lymph nodes will filter substances that pass the lymphatic fluid which has white blood cells that has
important function in fighting against infections and lymph nodes will filter waste of lymphatic fluid.
They are also susceptible to swelling in the neck areas and can happen due to injury or infection. The
main causes of swollen lymph nodes are bronchitis, tonsilitis, ear infection, cold. It is also possible for
swelling to occur in groin area as well as armpits. Lymphadenopathy can happen on the chest where
lymph nodes are also found.
Cervical lymph nodes
These are important structures to be able to fight infections and this is done by attacking the germs
and then destroying the germs carried into nodes through lymph fluid. They are found in neck area.
Once filtration is done, the salts and proteins that are leftover is renewing the bloodstream.
Axillary lymph nodes:
Axillary lymph nodes will have role in draining the trunk, limb and breast. Axillary lymph nodes are
also important in transporting lymph from the tissues all the way to the lymph nodes and is an
important site in white blood cell storage which are important in preventing disease.
