(battery would be commited if officer treated victim after refusal and held responsible for damages) Implied- Patient is unconscious or judgement impaired medical care should not be delayed. (NOK present must recieve consent from them) Abandonment - Answer - Officer should not leave patient until relieved by someone with an equal or greater certification level - Must provide personnel all information on patients condition. HIPAA - Answer Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. - Officers should not discuss medical care provided to a patient at an emergency scene. (does not apply to sharing of info with other medical care providers.
