Unit 45
P3M2
Impact transport systems have on the environment
Noise pollution: This is becoming a bigger concern on the environment as it
will usually mean that the pricing of houses will decrease in the area with a lot
of noise pollution and the residents will be unhappy. This is caused by all forms
of transport such as cars and planes.
Physical/mental health: Peoples health could be damaged due to the
transport they are around. An example of this is in Tokyo where people will
wear gas marks due to the environment and the damage that has been done.
Air pollution: Each form of transport will give out emissions which cause
pollution and are damaging the environment through global warming and is
also dangerous to people’s health.
Congestion: Traffic congestion is a big issue as it will mean that cars are taking
longer to travel due to the traffic, meaning that there will be more emissions
being released into the environment. It also contributes to noise pollution and
would be a visual intrusion making the area not look as nice.
Depletion of non-renewable resources: Transport systems fail to use sources
which are renewable, this is a problem as over a period of time the fuel we
have will run out and thee is not a sustainable method to keep producing fuel.
Analysis of the impact of transport systems on the environment
Noise Pollution: There is positives such as that people living in rural areas will
not be affected by it, however the negative impacts of noise pollution are
significantly larger as it means that a lot of people in urban areas are
constantly affected by it and would reduce the house prices in the areas.
The amount of noise pollution could be reduced if more people were
encouraged and started to use public transport as it would mean overall there
would be less vehicles on the road and therefore less noise would be made.
