States the need to activate the Trauma Team -ANSW-
States the need to prepare the trauma room -ANSW- Rapid Infuser
Chest trauma equipment
States the need to don personal protective equipment (PPE) -ANSW-
Across-the-room Observation -ANSW- Hemorrhage
Assess or obvious S/Sx of uncontrolled hemorrhage
Consider reprioritizing assessment to <C>ABC -ANSW- Pack with gauze
Apply pressure
Apply tourniquet if all other interventions fail
Primary Survey -ANSW- A through E
"A"
Airway, Alertness, & Alignment -ANSW- Observe for anything obstructing the airway
Assess level of consciousness
Keep cervical spine aligned & stabilized
Assess LOC using AVPU -ANSW- A - Alert
V - Responds to Verbal Stimuli
P - Responds to Painful Stimuli
U - Unresponsive
States the need for a second person to provide manual cervical spinal stabilization AND
demonstrates manual opening of the airway using the jaw-thrust-maneuver -ANSW-
C-Spine Stabilized
AND
Jaw-thrust-maneuver to open airway
Demonstrates and describes techniques for determining the patency and protection of
the airway, using:
Inspection, Auscultation, & Palpation
Identify at least 4 sources of obstruction -ANSW- Is the tongue obstructing?
Are there any loose or missing teeth?
Are there any foreign objects?
