Client has emphysema to promote effective breathing: sitting upright and leaning slightly forward while supporting both arms on the overbed table - In the semi-Fowler’s position, the client lies supine with the head of the bed elevated approximately 30°. This position is frequently used to prevent regurgitation and aspiration in clients who have difficulty swallowing. This is the safest position for the client receiving a tube feeding.
