Introduction:
I will be inspecting two different departments in a company as part of a team of
government health and safety inspectors on behalf of Her Majesty.
Company: L’Oréal (a cosmetic company)
L’Oréal:
L’Oreal is a cosmetic company that started on the 30th of July 1909, in Paris,
France. And so it’s 111 years old, this year they will celebrate their 112 years of
anniversary.
L’Oréal is a company ‘headquartered in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine with a registered
office in Paris’[2]. They operate in ‘140 countries’[3].
It is the world's largest cosmetics company focusing on the ‘field concentrating on
hair colour, skin care, sun protection, make-up, perfume, and hair care[2].
Around 87,907 people work for L’Oréal worldwide.
So I will be inspecting two different departments in the L’Oréal warehouse which is
the stacking department and the cleaning department.
The stacking department is in charge of storing the products in the right place, there
has to be a specific height that the products are allowed to be stacked in. The
, maximum height would be about ‘16 feet high’[4] with no machinery, but if machines
are used then the maximum height would become about ‘20 feet high’[4].
Risk assessment for the stacking department:
Risk Hazard Precaution
