Vraagsin (question sentence) - Hoe gaan dit? (How are you?)
Uitroepsin (exclamation sentence) Ek het ‘n muis gesien! (I saw a mouse!)
Samestelling of afleiding (Compound word or prefix and suffix)
Samestelling - two words that are put together to create another meaning
Bv. boekrak (bookshelf) boek = boek
rak = shelf
Afleiding - part of a word that can’t be on its own. Example lekkerder (der = means nothing)
Lekker = means fun
Klankgrepe (when you divide a word into a syllable based on the sounds that you hear)
Rotte (rats) = when you say the word, you don’t say both “r”’s you only hear one
