NAH
= de beschadiging van hersenweefsel dat na de geboorte is ontstaan en resulteert in stoornissen op
fysiek, sensorisch, cognitief of emotioneel functioneren
 hierdoor ontstaan problemen op vlak van zelfredzaamheid en psychosociaal functioneren die
tijdelijk of blijvend van aard zijn en persoonlijke assistentie of toezicht noodzakelijk maken

ENKELE CIJFERS:
- 1 op de 6 kinderen in de wereld heeft een hersenletsel
- 50% van de ouderen in de wereld heeft een hersenletsel
 mensen met Parkinson of dementie
- 1 op de 4 mensen in de wereld heeft een hersenletsel
- In 2017 waren er 247 000 mensen met NAH in Vlaanderen
- Jaarlijks 50 000 personen getrokken door NAH waarvan 15 000 met ernstige beperkingen tot
gevolg
