Slide #1 - ANSWER-Gaming consoles are particularly popular today in the United States. They were originally used for entertainment, family bonding , etc. But technology has advanced so greatly that gaming consoles are now used for a variety of different reasons. They now have the ability to play movies, surf the web, stream apps, etc. But one particular gaming console has been dominating for the past 20 years. My name is Darrian Avery and I am here to talk to you about PlayStation. Slide #2 - ANSWER-I will start off first by letting you know exactly what PlayStation is. Then I will get into the history of PlayStation. Next I will be getting into the gaming consoles released by PlayStation. Then I would like to talk about the PlayStation Portable and its success. And finally I would like to inform you about the PlayStation Store and the amazing items it possesses. And I will then end with a summary of the presentation. Slide #3 - ANSWER-What is PlayStation you may ask. PlayStation is a series of game consoles created and developed by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was first introduced in December of 1994. As of 2016, the brand consists of four consoles, 3 handheld consoles, a media center, an online service, and a line of magazines. Slide #4 - ANSWER-Sony, PlayStation's developer started off with Nintendo. However like most partnerships these days they had disagreements. A major disagreement was the CD-ROM vs Cartridge Gaming. Sony wanted to bring the CD-ROM format to world since it was being embraced. Nintendo did not like the idea. It still liked the idea of using cartridge gaming since it had brought them earlier success. In 1991 at the Consumer Electronics Show a breaking point was reached between the two companies. Sony announced the creation of a new gaming console that would operate under CD-ROM format.
