You will have to download all the material from myUnisa under the Official study material, Lessons and Additional resources. Lessons are what would have previously been your study guide. With an Online module, there is no material that will be posted to students. It is important to visit myUnisa regularly for your learning material and learning interaction. 2 PURPOSE AND OUTCOMES 2.1 Purpose Students, who have completed this module successfully, will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge base and sound understanding of the theory and practice of human capacity development in the organisational context for the purpose of facilitating professional development and lifelong learning. This module is delivered using myUnisa and the internet as well as peer group interaction; community engagement is also included in some of the activities. Your lecturers will interact with you on myUnisa and via e-mail. 2.2 Outcomes For this module, you will have to master several outcomes: • Specific outcome 1: Evaluate the concept and principles of human capacity development in a personal life context • Specific outcome 2: Argue the significance of capacity to change and the regional and global effects on people • Specific outcome 3: Function optimally as a lifelong learner and also assist others to become lifelong learners 3 CURRICULUM TRANSFORMATION Unisa has implemented a transformation charter based on five pillars and eight dimensions. In response to this charter, we have placed curriculum transformation high on the teaching and learning agenda. Curriculum transformation includes the following pillars: student-centred scholarship, the pedagogical renewal of teaching and assessment practices, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and the infusion of African epistemologies and philosophies. These pillars and their principles will be integrated at both programme and module levels as a phased-in approach. You will notice a marked change in the teaching and learning strategy implemented by Unisa, together with how the content is conceptualised in your modules. We encourage you to embrace these changes during your studies at Unisa in a responsive way within the framework of transformation. 4 LECTURER(S) AND CONTACT DETAILS
