Raised taxes on non-renewable energy

What if all the fossil fuels are burned and it leads to extreme heatwaves and rainfall? The
burning of non-renewable energy is one of the biggest sources for climate change. If all fossil
fuels are burned, the temperature will be raised 8 degrees by 2300, according to a research
from Katarzyna Tokarska, at the University of Victoria. This dystopia can be prevented by
using renewable energy. Most people know about the problem of climate change, but do
not do anything about it. Therefor taxes on non-renewable energy should be raised.

First of all, the income of the taxes can be invested in projects for renewable energy.
Everybody uses non-renewable energy. Therefore, it yields a lot of money when there are
tax raises on non-renewable energy. The money which is collected by the raises of the tax
can be invested in projects for renewable energy. When the green energy becomes more
accessible, more people switch to renewable energy.

Secondly, the raise in tax on non-renewable energy will decrease the emission of carbon
dioxide. If the taxes raise, the price of non-renewable energy will be higher. When the price
is higher, people use less of it because it is simply too expensive. Finally, they will search for
other solutions and will use renewable energy instead of non-renewable energy.

Lastly, the ones who use the most non-renewable energy nowadays, will also pay more
taxes. When you use a lot of non-renewable energy, you pay more for it than someone who
uses less non-renewable energy. So, the big carbon dioxide producers will pay more for it
and they will also switch sooner to renewable energy.

In a nutshell, taxes on non-renewable energy should be raised. The reason why the taxes
should be raised is because the revenues can be invested in projects for renewable energy,
whereby renewable energy become more affordable. Another reason why the taxes should
be raised is that people think non-renewable energy is too expensive and they will switch to
renewable energy. And last but not least, the ones who nowadays use the most non-
renewable energy, will also pay more tax. So, the big consumers will also change their
energy source to renewable energy.
