INTRODUCTION
Technology is fast growing in the medical field, the learner of today have to be prepared for the
complexity of the environment and the fast-pace flow of the unit where they will be working an
being able to solve problem quickly and able to make appropriate decisions(Billings & Halstead,
2016). The implementation of technology has been developing for years that it has added huge
difference in clinical work (Shen et al., 2017). In giving the patient the best care while they are
in the hospital. Most hospital now use electronic health records to minimize mistakes and
improved patient safety and care. The use of PDAs will help students connect well in the clinical
settings and prepare them for the real world of health care. Personal digital assistant (PDAs) is
first used by the public in the early 1990s. PDAs is a device to manage personal information, it
is capable of storing and exchanging large amounts of information that can be turned into hand
held computer and for this reason they have useful advantage for nursing students (Davidson et
al., 2010). Nursing student and health care professionals require access to the expanding
knowledge, and PDAs or other handheld computer devices can serve as valuable tools for
education, information storage, and retrieval in clinical practice. This paper will provide the use
of PDAs in nursing education and its advantages to health care.
THE USE OF PDA IN NURSING EDUCATION
PDA is a type of small, lightweight, and handheld device that can fit in one’s palm and assist
one’s daily work. PDA can work under the local area network and guarantee’s the privacy and
patient’s information. Nurses can use a PDA to achieve paperless clinical work and stored
documentation into the PDA via a wireless local area network (Shen et al., 2017). The most
commonly downloaded application or database for PDAs was drug or clinical
