First Activity
a) A dictionary activity, for vocabulary and dictionary skills development AFTER the class
have read or listened to your selected text.
This could be used later in the same lesson or in another lesson. You can use the vocabulary
items you have selected for pre-teaching or make a different selection. The vocabulary must be
from the text or clearly relevant to the text.

• For the learner to expand their vocabulary and meaning of the
selected words.
Aims
• Being able to select the correct word to complete the sentence.
• For the learner to demonstrate their understanding of “C” level
words.
• Inform the class that they have 15min to complete the task.
• Give out handouts and dictionaries, if they do not have online
access to a dictionary within the class.
Teacher’s Instructions
• Inform the students to put their hands up if they need support.
• Clearly explain what the task requires them to do.
• Confirm students understand the task before they begin.
