Discovering the Advanced Practice Nurse
In this paper I will discuss what I have discovered regarding advanced practice nursing through this course. I will focus mainly on the role of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), because FNP is what I am enrolled in school for. I will also tell what has inspired me to become a FNP and what influenced my decision. During this course I also interviewed a friend of mine who is a FNP , Christina Hughes. I will summarize that interview with her and
describe the state requirements for South Carolina where I live and plan to work. I will then
talk about the leadership style that I possess and how it contributes to being a transformational leader. I will also discuss and take a position on Medicare reimbursement for FNPs compared to medical doctors. provide to individuals (Hamric, 2013). Scientific foundation is a core competency that a NPs
